Hey foodies and wellness lovers! As a food blogger in my 30s, I’m all about delicious recipes that nourish the body from the inside out. While my blog focuses on tasty eats, I believe true wellness includes how we move and fuel ourselves daily. (Quick disclaimer: This is my personal experience and journey—definitely not medical advice!)
These days, I pay closer attention to nutrition and exercise than I did in my 20s—thanks to those fun hormonal shifts and life changes. My routine leans toward moderate weight lifting and cardio, but I’ve been a longtime fan of at-home workout queens like Cassey Ho (Blogilates/Pop Pilates—shoutout to my best friend who got me hooked!) and Chloe Ting (her programs and inspiring story are everything 🔥).
Cassey’s simple detox water is one of my favorites, and fun fact: some of her variations even include cucumber! It pairs perfectly with the citrus and mint for extra hydration and a subtle, spa-like freshness.
Upgraded Cassey Ho-Inspired Detox Water Recipe (with Optional Cucumber)
Ingredients (for about 1 liter pitcher):
- 1 liter filtered water (or a mix of still + sparkling for that fancy fizz!)
- ½ lemon, thinly sliced
- ½ lime, thinly sliced
- ½ orange, thinly sliced
- A handful of fresh mint leaves
- ½ cucumber, thinly sliced (highly recommend adding this—it’s a game-changer for cooling hydration!)
- Optional: High-quality sparkling mineral water to top it off
- Optional splash: 1–2 tbsp pure cranberry juice (unsweetened)
Instructions:
- Wash and thinly slice the citrus fruits and cucumber.
- Gently muddle the mint leaves to release their oils.
- Add everything to a large pitcher or infusion bottle.
- Fill with filtered water (swap half for sparkling if you want bubbles!).
- Let it infuse in the fridge for at least 2 hours (overnight for max flavor).
- Sip and enjoy all day!
Pro Tips:
- Cucumber adds a mild, refreshing crispness and extra hydration boost—it’s like turning this into ultimate spa water while helping with de-bloating even more.
- No mint? Skip it—still amazing!
- In winter (when my kitties make indoor herb-growing impossible), buy fresh or just omit.
- Grow your own herbs? This drink shines year-round.
- Want to add ginger or cayenne? Go for it for a spicy twist!
I drink this often —super cooling and helps me stay hydrated without feeling boring. Perfect after workouts or heavy meals!
